Sumire – Short Film – Director Lalo Gargano
Sumire, a young girl living in Tokyo spends her nights entertaining men for money. Tokyo has a long history of ‘Kyabakura’, private clubs where women are paid to talk to wealthy and lonely businessmen. Sumire must navigate her feelings of loneliness and self-worth, whilst living and working in a city that is at once overly populated yet incredibly isolating.
